Guillen: Media part of Thomas’ bad attitude, or something

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen and injured slugger Frank Thomas, joining the team for the first time this season, conferred Monday over what Guillen said was a press misinterpretation of remarks he made Sunday.

Guillen pulled Thomas aside after Guillen saw the attention his remarks had received. “I put the radio on and all of sudden it was blasting Frank like we hated each other,” Guillen said. “All of sudden they’re blasting me and they’re blasting everyone. It made me sick to my stomach because I put Frank Thomas in this situation.”

Guillen had said on Sunday that “Franky was a big part of the bad attitude… The attitude was horrible last year. It was everyone. If you’re part of a team, you’re part of it, too.” Discarding that last part, the Chicago press had a field day. “I mean, what’s new? It seems like every three times a year, it’s just a Big Frank story blown out of proportion,” Thomas said, causing local commentators to opine about his big frank…
