ChiSox new unis: bowties, suspenders

From the Newsroom

CHICAGO, IL — He may not know how to run a team or build a stadium, but Jerry Reinsdorf knows hair, and he asked the White Sox’ most hirsute members to trim theirs on Monday. Apparently concerned that his team was being confused with the other Sox, Reinsdorf told A.J. Pierzynski and Joe Crede to cut the manes that may have in fact been the source of their strength. “Joe’s been hitting the ball pretty good. I think he should keep his,” Pierzynski agreed.

The news was relayed from the owner’s suite by GM Ken Williams, with Reinsdorf apparently afraid to tarnish the happy image he projects each payday. “This rule has been here since I got here and was playing,” manager Ozzie Guillen said. “Neat haircuts. He’s not saying you got to be bald.” The Sox might consider a team shave, now that they won’t be confused for Carl Everett.
