Today is Opening Day proper, differentiated from the created-for-ESPN Opening Night by actually not having been created for TV. Except for the orgy of TV games today, that is. If you don’t have to work, you can be watching a game every minute until about 1am Eastern.
What’s more, it’s Free MLB Extra Innings week through April 12th, enabling you to contrast the broadcasting teams for the various clubs while being thankful that none of them contain Joe Morgan (but stay vigilant: you never know when one of them might contain Tim McCarver). It’s a rare freebie from Commissioner Bud and his crew, so take advantage of it.
Now get on that sofa and watch!
